Raising the bar

FLEXIM's gas flow meter Series FLUXUS G sets the standards for non-intrusive clamp-on flow metering of gaseous media.

Where others try to cover the wide application range from liquid to gas flow metering with just one transducer technology, FLEXIM has developed the specific Lambwave technology to care for an accurate and reliable ultrasonic flow measurement of gases over a wide turndown ratio.

The FLUXUS gas flow meters are available as portable as well as permanent meters and are finding a broad application range within gasexploration, -transportation, -storage as well as within industrial processing.

Precise, bi-directional, reliable

Accuracy and reliability are one of our strong propositions. Thus, our ultrasonic transducers are specifically matched and paired and do guarantee a high zero stability as well as high precision at low flow velocities.

With more than 1.000 measurement cycles per second, superior measurement algorithms embedded in the flow computer and with the transducers being calibrated in house or directly at the measurement point, FLEXIM's clamp-on systems are not less accurate than inline gas flowmeters, but much more reliable, as they do not suffer from wear and tear inside the pipe.

Moreover, FLEXIM's transducers feature an integrated temperature compensation (compliant to ANSI/ASME (MFC-5M-1985(R2011)), which eliminates influences of ambient temperature changes that could affect the accuracy of the measurement.

The ultrasonic transducers are simply clamped on to the outside of the pipe and never get in direct contact with the gas flowing inside the pipe. For installation, no cutting or welding on the pipe is necessary - process interruption or even process stops are a thing of the past. The bi-directional gas flow measurement system is immune against any kind of chemical attack by the gas flowing inside the pipe, as well as independent toward pressure peaks, vortexes, lateral or pulsating gas flows and does not cause any pressure drops - further reducing its operational costs.

Safe, efficient, intuitive

Maintenance efforts are kept to an absolute minimum as our ultrasonic gas flowmeters are designed and engineered specifically to the industries needs - ranging from standard industrial applications up to robust measuring solutions for offshore usage in hazardous areas.

Not only the transmitters, but also the ultrasonic transducers are protected against rough environments by stainless steel mounting fixtures (VARIOFIX) as well as steel armored cables, running from the transducers to the flow computer.

With the help of special coupling pads, the transducers themselves never loose contact to the pipe wall and thus do not need any type of regreasing. Both transmitters and transducers are available in various explosion hazardous area approved versions (such as ATEX, IECEx, FM and GOST).

In regard to the pressure ratio inside the pipe, FLUXUS doesn't know any limitation. Even the flow measurement of wet gas, as often seen during gasexploration and -storage, is not a hurdle for the FLUXUS gas flowmeter.

By integrating additional process parameters such as pressure and temperature as well as the individual gas coefficients, the FLUXUS gas flow meters are also capable to measure the mass flow rate as well as operational and standard volume flows with highest precision.

At the same time all FLUXUS gas flow meters share a high degree of commonality as they are based on the same technological platform, offering the user the same intuitive user interface, an automatic and fast transducer recognition and thus ensure a fast and easy set-up.
