"Fit for the Purpose" construction
All FLEXIM clamp-on transducers are watertight and suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.
Their robust stainless steel construction and rugged integrated cables guarantee reliable measurement results over long periods of extensive use. The standard transducers are designed with an IP65 degree of protection. For applications under especially humid and wet conditions, FLEXIM has developed transducers with an IP68 degree of protection. This means, that such transducers can operate continuously and flawlessly under full water contact. Besides, also various explosion-protected transducers with FM approval are available.
Not only do the transducers offer a high degree of protection - the longitudinal watertight connection cable is covered with a special plastic sheath as well. Even if there is a damage to the cable, no media will leak into the transducer.
All FLEXIM transducers are calibrated as a pair. The calibration data, including the transducer identification and other parameters, is stored in a transducer-resident non-volatile memory (EPROM) and is transferred to the transmitter automatically upon connection. Consequently, configuration errors are eliminated and there is never a need for a zero adjustment.
FLEXIM's transducers furthermore feature an integrated temperature probe, which ensures the compensation of temperature changes induced by the environment. This compensation, according to ANSI/ASME MFC-5M-1985 (R2001) standards, is another factor contributing to the exceptional precision of our flow meters.
Our proprietary knowledge
All FLEXIM flowmeters feature an exceptionally robust dual-μP technology, which means, that two micro processors with the latest Digital Singal Processing (DSP) technology are ensuring a fast, accurate and especically reliable data analysis.
The uniquely high rate of more than 1000 signals per second allows for a real time statistical analysis and the relay free electronic circuit ensures a wearless coupling and thus a very high lifetime and durability of our systems.
Based on many years of experience and countless field-tests and a very profound knowledge in the field of ultrasonic flow metering, the FLUXUS measurement algorithms automatically adapts to varying application conditions. The algorithms feature a cross correlation evaluation of the received signals, guaranteeing an excellent noise surpression and stable zero point. Further, the signals undergo a validity check and several diagnosis tools before FLUXUS uses them for the calculation of the flow.
