Coupling pads

Coupling pad
Modest, but effective: maintenance-free acoustic coupling with the coupling pad

Simply clamp on transducers and forget all about them.

Coupling pads made of temperature-stable, permanently elastic plasticmean that subsequent greasing of transducers that is necessary when deploying them in rough conditions is a thing of the past. The pads are simply clamped between transducer and pipe and firmly pressed on by means of FLEXIM fixture sets.

Precondition for flow measurement with ultrasonics is a functioning transmission of ultrasonic signals into the pipe and back. Usually a fine layer of coupling compound between pipe and transducer does the trick. However, depending on the prevailing conditions at the measuring position, the coupling compound has to be freshly re-applied more or less regularly. At high temperatures it dries up, or it is washed away by wind and weather. The coupling pads ensure permanent operation without maintenance work.
