Non-invasive gas flow measurement with FLUXUS G
Portable gas flow meter in a gas installation
Gas transducer of type GDK at a measuring point
New gas transducers extend the area of applicationWith the new GL type transducers of the GL type, FLEXIM has completed its range of clamp-on ultrasonic transducers for non-invasive flow measurement of gases. The newly developed transducers work with so-called lamb waves. They are tuned to specific pipe wall thicknesses and are therefore intended chiefly for permanent installation. They are also ideal for gas measurement where high flow velocities and attenuative media are encountered. The standard GS type transducers function with shear waves and cover a broad range of pipe size and wall thicknesses. Together with the portable transmitter FLUXUS G 6725, they are ideal for mobile measuring tasks, such as service, maintenance, trouble-shooting and supervision of permanently installed instruments. The various transducers of the FLUXUS G series covers the nominal width range of 76 to 1525 mm and thus allows an optimal adaptation to the relevant measuring task. FLUXUS® G is the ideal solution for non-invasive gas flow measurement.
The ultrasonic measuring system offers a precise, bi-directional flow measurement
with high measurement FLUXUS G is also successfully used in offshore natural gas conveyance. Another field of application is in the chemical industry, where clamp-on measuring methods are particularly practical as solutions, for instance in high-pressure applications such as synthesised gas. Moreover, the non-invasive, leak-free method is recommended for the flow measurement of aggressive and poisonous reaction gases conveyed in special plastic pipes. Non-invasive ultrasonic clamp-on technology has meanwhile become a reliable and much-proven method for the flow measurement of gases. Its special advantages make it a positive alternative – both technologically and economically – to conventional methods in a great number of applications. |
