PIOX® R: The New Process Refractometer from FLEXIM

PIOX® R, the new FLEXIM refractometer, realizes a precise and drift free measurement of the refractive index, of the concentration or of the density of fluids directly in the process.

Precise Measurement through Unique Technology

The PIOX® refractometer works with transmitted light which has crossed the whole pipe cross section. The whole fluid cross section thus influences the results and not only a thin boundary layer as it is the case for conventional refractometers. The precision and resolution reached with this method is a factor 10 higher than that of the critical angle refractometers.

The measurement with transmitted light offers the advantage that it is not influenced by deposits forming on the prism - it is drift free. Furthermore, it is independent of the viscosity of the fluid and is not sensitive to bubbles, vibrations and pressure blasts. No minimum flow is necessary.

Completely redesigned electronics

R300 is a proud successor of the PRD60 refractometer. The sensor unit integrates the >proven Godat optics and a completely new electronic for the calculation of the refractive index. The precision and reliability are increased by the improved measurement algorithm and the optimized image analysis.

The operation and connection to the process are ensured by the completely redesigned transmitter PIOX TR. The interactive user dialogue of the latter allows an uncomplicated parameterization and a rapid start of the measurement.
